WHAT WE
DO NOW

Today, Prakruthivanam is a thriving organic farm and community space, rooted in sustainability and shaped by years of hands-on effort. What began as a small experiment in natural farming has grown into a vibrant ecosystem with many interconnected activities.

At the heart of the farm is our organic shop, offering a range of handmade and chemical-free products—cold-pressed oils, herbal soaps, shampoos, essential oils, floor cleaners, natural healthcare items, millets, pulses, grains, spice powders, and more. Everything is made in small batches using traditional methods and ingredients we grow or source with care. We also send our products to distributors across the state and neighbouring states — you can view the full list of distributors in this PDF.

The farm is supported by a close-knit team of over 100 people—mostly women—many of whom have been with us for decades. Together, they've helped shape the farm into the living, self-sustaining space it is today.

In recent years, we’ve expanded our work beyond farming. We now host organic farming workshops, farm retreats, and volunteer programs that offer hands-on learning and a chance to reconnect with land and food. Our farm stay welcomes guests throughout the year to rest, learn, and enjoy seasonal farm-to-table meals from our active kitchen garden.

We’ve planted over 1,500 native trees in fallow areas as part of our afforestation efforts—designed to support bees, birds, and local biodiversity. At the centre of this forest, we’ve reserved a space for future eco-friendly cottages. We’ve also built a sports field for the community and farm team, now a lively gathering spot each evening.

Our 40 native cows are central to our farming. With natural inputs like Jeevamrutham, Neemasthram and Dashaparni kashayam, we nourish the soil and grow food without harming the ecosystem. We also make traditional jaggery from sugarcane, often sold out within weeks. Cats, dogs, and cows roam freely, bringing warmth and joy to the land.

Looking ahead, our focus is on deepening the work we've begun—planting more native trees, building a wider community, creating spaces to learn, and offering a grounded experience of rural life. Change, we believe, grows slowly—season by season.
